Monwabisi Ncayiyana is member of ANCYL & ANC in kzn Moses Mabhida Region ward 24
Most of us the son’s and the daughters of Oliver Tambo we are incognisance of the fact that; the young must respect the old and the old must never shy way to respond in the same fashion. One can even ague that if we keep this basic principle, the ANC will forever remain intact. However so this can’t be translated as; Youth must shy away on raising serious and fundamental issues confronting the youth and the society at large.
We must also learn one thing in the ANC; that there is nothing better than a discipline leader of the movement irrespective of whatever situation that is prevailing in the organisation. Further more one should distinguish between a general disciple and a revolutionary disciple leader.
Among other important issues in the same context of a revolutionary discipline leader, A cadre of that calibre will go as far as respecting whatever decisions taken by an organ, irrespective of either he/she was against that view initially or beliefs, so long that decision is the interest of ANC. Most importantly at times respecting such decision will not be enough but such leader will become a custodian and a champion for such decision/program. This will show a political maturity and a revolutionary discipline cadre of the congress movement.
Whereas disciple remains our culture, there will always be some people whom will go out of the way; in that regard it becomes our prime duty to work on those to inculcate discipline at all material times. A failer in this regard we will be donating our lovely ANC to be an organization for hooliganism and by tomorrow it become a culture or a norm to be a hooligan in the Congress Movement.
Again it is difficult even to start imaging that being radical can be substituted with anarchy. Let it alone that there is not even a thin line between the two. Not so long ago we have witnessed barbarism in the name of “Youth must be radical” and that prompted an imagination the ANC must bow on its League or accept an onslaught continuous defiance and further claiming that without us there is no league.
I must confess that; we are proud to be members of the African National Congress and will forever be loyal to the ANC not to a particular individual until death do us apart, as we learn new things every day in the ANC alongside we must not baby-seat nor we must tolerate ill-discipline practices that has been perpetuated over and over again, no matter who you are, where you from what position are you occupying, either at organisational level or at government level.
Today the erosion moral decay and ill-discipline has become an order the day not only by some members but even by some leader’s. Over a past couple of months we have witnessed a lot of misconduct in organizational gatherings, whatever case maybe, either these are manifestation of leadership battles towards conferences or personal battles. What is more painful is the use of media during such practices, singing of derogatory songs that are undermining the entire of ANC.
Among those whom are not immune from such; I doubt they understand what is known as self discipline, let alone organisational discipline. Infect I strongly believe that such practices are of low political maturity and they don’t find any expression in the ANC or in the Alliance.
Lastly, relating on the above practices. At times one should keep pondering on what is it that will oblige anyone whom claims to love the ANC so dearly to burn ANC t-shirt in public? What is it that oblige anyone to perpetuate looting wearing the t-shirt of the Organ that he/she claim to love it so dearly?
The fact that one is falling to come up with logical answers on the above questions, that’s also raises a concern as a discipline member of the ANC, what else should be done to inculcate more disciple in our Organ?
Amandla!
Matimba!
Power to the people!
